Dr. John Kolenda founded the Green Trails Animal Clinic on the principals of excellence, compassion, and service. He has owned and managed practices in Wisconsin and Illinois and has a special interest in veterinary dentistry. Dr. Kolenda and his wife, Chris, reside in Naperville where they have been involved in the community since 1985. Dr. Kolenda is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association. 

Dr. Ruth Etherton, DVM

 Dr. Ruth Etherton joined our Clinic after graduating from the University of Illinois with High Honors.
She is very adept in preventative and geriatric medicine with a focus on dentistry and obesity management.
Dr. Etherton understands the importance of the human animal bond, especially in grief management.
She has a special interest in exotic animals, including small mammals,birds and reptiles.
Dr. Etherton is a member of the Association of Avian Veterinarians and the Association of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians,
the American Veterinary Medical Association and the
Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association.  

Dr. Aina Petritis, DVM 

Dr. Aina Petritis joined our Clinic after graduating from the University of Minnesota.
Prior to pursuing a career as a veterinarian, she was employed at the Brookfield Zoo. She enjoys all aspects of
veterinary medicine, and has a special interest in internal medicine. Dr. Petritis is also a strong believer in client
education and feels that improving the quality of life is often just as important as maximizing the length of life.
Dr. Petritis is a member of the 
American Veterinary Medical Association.  

  Dr. Sonja joined our Clinic after graduating from the University of Illinois.
She also is a graduate of Drake University with a major in International Relations and Business.
Dr. Sonja has studied in both Italy and Germany and brings a wealth of knowledge to our Clinic.
While at the University of Illinois, she served as a student representative for the Hills Pet Nutrition program.
Dr. Sonja is a member of the 
American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Jessa Ovitt, DVM

Dr. Jessa Ovitt joined our Clinic after graduating from the University of Illinois with Highest Honors. 
Prior to our Clinic, Dr. Ovitt practiced veterinary medicine in North Carolina,
served as a Student Investigator for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta Georgia
and most recently served as Veterinaray Administrator of DuPage County. 
Dr. Ovitt is a member of the
American Veterinary Medical Association.
